Ranch 57

CJ and I went to have dinner at Ranch 57, Plaza Medan Fair, Medan, Indonesia, the other day when I was in my hometown. The place is kinda nice with its own distinct concept, and the waiter kept telling us that Ranch 57 is under the same management as Lekker. I haven't been to Lekker yet, but heard that it's quite popular in Medan.

Nasi Goreng Balado was nice, but I found it too spicy for me. I love spicy food but I just can't handle them well nowadays I don't know why.. CJ's Chicken Fiesta was slightly burned, but was good flavor wise.Food are reasonably priced, however I found that their signature beverages are a tad too steep in price. Heard that they serve good coffee, so coffee lovers, you might want to give this a try..=`)

Medan Town

To all Medanese in Singapore..rejoice!! You can now have your Medan food fix at Medan Town, 253 Tanjong Katong Rd, Singapore, when you are feeling home sick.. I chance upon Medan Town's ad in Cleo Magazine, and we went there when the sis was craving hometown food.. Oh who am I kidding, we crave for Medan's food ALL THE TIME!! =p

We were stunned when we were at Tanjong Katong Rd.. The whole place basically is a food street now!! There are a lot of chic and nicely decorated food places along the road, and some are really popular names like Punggol Nasi Lemak, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh and Eng's Noodles House..

So Medan Town was kinda easy to spot when you are in Tj. Katong..=`)

We love all the food!! Of course we can't compare it with Medan's popular names, but the food are all pretty decent and we did have our hometown craving satisfied..=`))

Our favorite would be the Nasi Rendang Ayam and Soto Udang. The Nasi Rendang Ayam was spicy and flavorful we can't wait to go back!! The Soto Udang came with generous amount of shrimp and really paired well with rice. So Medanese, if you long for hometown food, you know where to find them..=`))

RS Deli

We went to try the newly opened RS Deli at 244R Upper Thomson Road, Singapore, and quite surprise that they actually serve Indonesian cuisine!! The place is beautifully decorated and looks like one pretty cafe to enjoy your afternoon tea.. So yay for more Indonesian food in Singapore!! =`))

Food are all very nice, we enjoyed every single dish. 

We wish that the dishes could be more spicy though, as us Medanese, we love our food with lots of spice..teehee..=p

But Rasa Sayang Deli definitely satisfy our hometown food craving..=`)

Bali Thai

Long time no post!! My next posts are all overdue posts so please don't leave my blog!!! =p

Had lunch at Bali Thai at IMM, Jurong East, Singapore the other day with my family and we ordered, well, mostly the Indonesian side of the menu..=p

Cumi Bakar (Grilled Squid) at SGD 11.00

Ayam Panggang (Roasted Chicken) at SGD 7.50

KangKong Belachan (Stir Fried Belachan Morning Glory) at SGD 9.00

Combination Platter at SGD 15.00

Sparkling Dracula at SGD 3.80

 

Squid, Chicken and Kangkong were all good, however, we were quite disappointed with the Combination Platter which taste does not live up to its price ..=`(

Service was not bad and food was served quite fast too.. Maybe try Thai menu next time..=`)

Bakoel Ubud Restaurant

I love visiting Bakoel Ubud at Sun Plaza, Medan, Indonesia. Its owner, Mr. Moe Karta used to be my lecturer, one of my favorites too and I assure you, he is one hard working and friendly businessman. The restaurant itself has unique Balinese theme. We love its signature Nasi Goreng Kampoeng (Kampoeng Fried Rice) that usually comes with unique Balinese presentation, but on our last visit, we really crave for its steaks so we ordered two portions of Grilled Chicken instead..=`)

They serves great variety of interesting drinks too if you prefer something different, unlike our ice tea..=p

Love the restaurant's Bali touch..=`)

Even to their waiter/waitress..=`) Cool outfit with great service too..=`)
