Medan Town

To all Medanese in Singapore..rejoice!! You can now have your Medan food fix at Medan Town, 253 Tanjong Katong Rd, Singapore, when you are feeling home sick.. I chance upon Medan Town's ad in Cleo Magazine, and we went there when the sis was craving hometown food.. Oh who am I kidding, we crave for Medan's food ALL THE TIME!! =p

We were stunned when we were at Tanjong Katong Rd.. The whole place basically is a food street now!! There are a lot of chic and nicely decorated food places along the road, and some are really popular names like Punggol Nasi Lemak, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh and Eng's Noodles House..

So Medan Town was kinda easy to spot when you are in Tj. Katong..=`)

We love all the food!! Of course we can't compare it with Medan's popular names, but the food are all pretty decent and we did have our hometown craving satisfied..=`))

Our favorite would be the Nasi Rendang Ayam and Soto Udang. The Nasi Rendang Ayam was spicy and flavorful we can't wait to go back!! The Soto Udang came with generous amount of shrimp and really paired well with rice. So Medanese, if you long for hometown food, you know where to find them..=`))

Pizza Hut

Had lunch with my family at Pizza Hut, Suntec City, Singapore last week.. They have this 1 for 1 deal during weekday so..yayy!! =p

We pay SGD 14.90 for Basil Crayfish Pasta..

and get Curry Zazzle Baked Rice for free!! =`)

Berri Sparkle at SGD 2.90

Hut's Platter at SGD 13.90..

Kids Meal (Includes Spaghetti Napoleon, Apple Juice, and Fries) at SGD 6.90

Baked Beef Balls at SGD 5.90..

We sure had family lunch fun at Pizza Hut!! =`)

Gurney Drive

Had dinner with the sis one month ago at Gurney Drive, Jubilee Entertainment Complex, Ang Mo Kio, Singapore.. From its name, Gurney Drive, I think you know, it was all about Penang food..=`)

Both of us ordered the same Penang Fried Koay Teow at SGD 6.90 because we really craved for it..=p

It was not bad, but Penang Recipe at Upper Thomson Road does it tad better..=`)

I had Iced Teh-O at SGD 2.10 and the sis had Iced Teh Tarik at SGD 2.20

My Teh-O was plain painful, but the sis claimed her Teh was not bad..

We also ordered Belacan Chicken Wings at SGD 4.90

I was quite dissapointed coz I expected Belacan means it will be spicy and all..=`(  But overall, if you miss Penang food, I guess you could give Gurney Drive a shot..=`)

Nelayan Suki Japanese Cuisine

 

On the first day of 2012, my cousin and I decided to try the new Nelayan Suki Japanese Cuisine by the famous Nelayan at Cambridge City Square, Medan, Indonesia. And I have to say, Nelayan never fail to cheer Medanese up!! Judging from their restaurants which are most always crowded..

What we had that day:

Japanese Green Tea (Cold&Hot) at IDR 6.000 (SGD 0.86)

My Yaki Udon at IDR 30.000 (SGD 4.30)

My Cousin's Chicken Bento at IDR 30.000 (SGD 4.30)

Spicy Gyu Maki at IDR 25.000 (SGD 3.60)

These are so spicy but so delicious!!

We were so full yet so satisfied with our first dinner of 2012..
